Krystal Weir is a two-time Olympian in sailing, a qualified physiotherapist with a Master of Sports Physiotherapy, and the Head Physiotherapist for the Emerging Matildas. She combines elite athletic experience with advanced clinical expertise in musculoskeletal and sports rehabilitation.
Krystal has specialist expertise in the physiological and biomechanical demands of sailing, particularly supporting athletes transitioning from the Optimist class through to the Olympic Laser 4.7 pathway. Having navigated this progression herself at the highest level, she brings a unique, practical understanding of performance development, injury prevention, and long-term athlete progression in sailing.

Additionally, Krystal works closely with a wide range of age groups, with a particular focus on adolescents and midlife adults. She has extensive experience managing the impact of hormonal change on the musculoskeletal system, including growth- and puberty-related considerations in adolescents, as well as hormonal transitions through midlife.
This includes the assessment and management of conditions such as tendinopathies, menopause-related musculoskeletal symptoms, and longer-term degenerative changes influenced by hormonal shifts.
